Yesterday was the first time i was ever really involved in the parlimentary elections of Singapore. Yah, i got to vote at the age of 22, when some pple might not even have a chance to do so even when they are well into their thirties. Should i say i'm lucky that i was able to exercise my civil rights at such a young age coz for the previous elections, there have been walkovers in my zone?
Anyway, for those who have yet to have a taste of voting, actually its nothing much. Its almost exactly like what they show in the advertisements teaching pple what to do in the polling centres, except that the boxes that are used to put the votes are made of cardboard instead of metal. Btw don't go to the polling centres early in the morning if u can avoid it, coz there'll most likely be a crowd. I was the last among the 3 in my family who were eligible, to cast my vote, choosing to go just b4 dinner. Strange eh, my mum, dad n i all went at different timings. And don't ask me who i voted for k. "Voting is compulsory. Voting is secret." Kekekeke.... =p
Oohh, and yesterday was also my dad's chinese birthday. So i treated my family to dinner at the restaurant in cck swimming complex. Hmmm....can only say that the food there wasn't fantastic. But well, my dad wanted to try out the food there so i think that's the first and last time we are going there. It was also kinda an early mother's day celebration for my mum. Kekekkee...cheapskate huh me...celebrated both events together. But well, i'm still officially jobless k =p and my dad's offered to pay for the actual mother's day treat this coming weekend while my mum's gonna pay for my dad's actual birthday treat. Think this is gonna make us fat man. Getting nowhere with all these treats. Just trying to find excuses to go out for dinner. Wahahaha....
